TANYA. 2024/2025

Hi!

JAMIE ROSENBERG. 2023/2024

My name is Jamie Rosenberg. I was the language assistant at Ferrobús during the 2023-2024 school year. I am from Chicago, Illinois in the United States. Before my time in Spain, I graduated college where I studied to be a teacher for primary school.

I spent the entire school year living in Córdoba and was lucky enough to teach English and science in Palma del Río. It was such an amazing and special opportunity. I loved learning about the culture and getting to experience events such as Feria and the Patios of Córdoba. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity!

The teachers at this school were all incredibly kind and welcomed me with open arms. They supported me in learning about the community and included me as if I was one of them. I loved getting to work with all the students in the school, from 3 years to primary 6. I got to share my culture with them and they loved to learn about holidays celebrated in the United States. They taught me so much about celebrations and traditions in Spain. The students worked so hard to learn English and helped me improve my Spanish as well! I was able to attend field trips, be a part of whole school celebrations, and cheer on the students during their performances, such as plays and their winter singing concert.

I want to thank all the parents, students, teachers, and the whole community for including me and sharing your amazing culture. I plan to come back and visit soon!

ZOE. 2022/2023

Hello everyone!

I am Zoe, the English language assistant at Ferrobús for 2022/23. I am from Scotland, in the United Kingdom, and I am currently studying at the University of St Andrews. My family lives near the capital city of Edinburgh, where I enjoy playing the trumpet with my brass band and horse riding.

I have spent 8 months here in Spain, living in Cordóba and working at this amazing school. I have had the opportunity to assist with English learning in all clases, from 3 years to primary 6. The students and teachers of Ferrobús have made my time here very special, supporting me as I continue to learn and making me smile everyday. We have achieved a lot together, including art projects, reading stories, listening to music, science experiments and traditional Scottish Ceilidh dancing. I hope that these activities have inspired the students to continue learning English, just as they have inspired me to find fun and creative ways of teaching it. Soon I will return home and say a sad goodbye to Ferrobús, a school which will always be special for me.

Thank you to all the students, parents, teachers and kind people of Palma del Río for welcoming me with open arms - I have been very lucky to come and work in this beautiful town.

Lang may yer lum reek (Te deseo todo lo mejor en escocés)
